Blair Quinn, Assistant Coach
Former professional soccer player Blair Quinn joined the Arizona State women's soccer program as assistant coach in July, 2007 after serving in a similar position at Loyola Marymount University. In his role Quinn will work with all facets of the ASU program with special concentration on tutoring the Sun Devils' goalkeepers.
"Blair Quinn brings a lot of experience to our team," lauded ASU head coach Kevin Boyd. "He played professionally for several years, including one year here in Phoenix. He brings not only a great understanding of the goalkeeper position but also a lot of professionalism. He has a great perspective of the game that is really going to be an asset to our team."
Before his appointment at Loyola Marymount, Quinn served as volunteer assistant and goalkeepers coach at the University of Kansas where the Jayhawks finished with an 11-7-1 record in 2006. Under Quinn's tutelage, Kansas sophomore goalkeeper Julie Hanley recorded a goals against average of 0.98 while recording seven shutouts.
In addition to his duties with the Jayhawks women's soccer program, Quinn also coached with the Blue Valley Soccer Club in Overland Park, Kan., for three seasons. Prior to joining the staff at Kansas, Quinn was an assistant women's coach at Johnson County Community and a graduate assistant with the men's program at his alma mater, Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Mo.
Quinn played at Rockhurst from 1994 through 1996, earning NAIA 1st Team All-America and NSCAA 2nd Team All-America honors in 1996. During his senior season, he set and still holds the NAIA record for shutouts with 19, earning an invitation to the NSCAA/UMBRO All-America Game.
Following his college career, Quinn played professionally with four teams over a six-year period. He began his career with the Tallahassee Scorpions of the EISL before moving to the Sacramento Knights of the WISL. He then played for the Arizona Thunder (WISL) before concluding his career with the Kansas City Comets (MISL).
Quinn currently has a USSF `B' License and an NSCAA State and Regional Goalkeeper Diploma.
