Sun Devil Soccer Camps

Heat Issue

Dear Parents:

Here at ASU, we are the Sun Devils, and we live in one of the most beautiful places in the country. The sun shines here nearly every day, and with that comes warmer temperatures. We would like to ease your concerns regarding the "heat issue" for our Sun Devil Soccer Camps. The soccer camps will be held outside. However, we will have a full-time trainer from ASU on staff at the camps, we have two air-conditioned rooms at our stadium that are available to us at anytime if necessary, and we will have a shade tent outside at the field. Campers will be repeatedly encouraged to apply sunscreen. We will have water breaks every 10 minutes or so, and more frequently if necessary. In addition to the frequent water breaks, we will have a "snack" break about 1.5 hours into the morning session (so that the kids have an opportunity to get something light/healthy in them for energy). Full-Day campers will break for lunch from 11-12, and then resume training from 12-2pm.

We hope this has helped to eliminate your concerns regarding the handling of the summer weather conditions during our Sun Devil Soccer Camps.

Thank you and we look forward to seeing you at ASU this summer!
